Vice President of Land & Legal
Erik Holt is Vice President of Land & Legal at Terra Energy Partners II, LLC. A licensed attorney, Erik brings more than 15 years of experience leading land, legal, and business development efforts in the private investment energy sector.
Previously, he was Partner and Chief Commercial Officer of Teal Natural Resources, LLC, a private equity–backed E&P operator focused in South Texas, where he was instrumental in Teal’s growth through a series of acquisitions and managed all corporate legal affairs, culminating in the company’s successful monetization in 2021. Following Teal, Erik served as an officer and member of the investment committee of Providence Energy Operators, LLC, an oil and gas investment fund with more than $1 billion in assets under management.
Most recently, Erik was General Counsel and Vice President of Land at Frontier Carbon Solutions LLC, a private equity–sponsored energy infrastructure platform, where he oversaw all legal and land functions on behalf of the company, including the growth and establishment of its ~100,000-acre carbon storage hub in southwest Wyoming. Earlier in his career, he held management roles with privately funded startups focused on consolidating and operating conventional and unconventional oil and gas assets across the Lower 48.
Erik earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the Oil, Gas, and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and was recently a finalist for D CEO’s Corporate Counsel Award.
