Position Title: Automation Technician
Reporting to: Automation Supervisor
Location: Parachute, CO
Description:
Terra Energy Partners is seeking a hands-on, self-motivated, dependable, strong work ethic, well-organized and results-oriented professional with the ability to demonstrate a proven track record of meeting deadlines and goals. The candidate for this position will have the responsibility but not limited to low voltage installation/repairs, motor controls, building/programing RTUs, network maintenance, automation/ process controls and construction/integration of new production facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Installation, Configuration, Troubleshooting, and repair of RTUs, plunger lift control, wellhead telemetry, radio networking, pressure transducers and tank transmitters.
- Support field operations.
- Troubleshoot/Repair Production Facilities
- Ability to organize daily work assignments, installation, and service calls.
- Stay current with latest technologies related to Automation products.
- Manage contractor projects under budget and on time.
- Efficient communication
- Support in training new employees
Qualifications:
- 2 + years’ experience in automation repair/installation preferred.
- Knowledge of EFMs, and communications equipment (Ferguson, ABB TotalFlow, ROC, Freewave, Xetawave, OleumTech and MDS radios)
- Knowledge of instrumentation, electronic, and measurement systems (pressure transmitters, tank sensors, temperature sensors, operator interfaces, motor controls coriolis meters, mag meters, switches, relays, actuators, and power supplies)
- Knowledge of Modbus communication protocols.
- Familiar with SCADA System.
- Self-motivator with strong organization skills.
- Work in adverse weather conditions.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment or alone with minimal supervision.
- Good driving record.
- Knowledge in use of Outlook, Word and Excel.
- High School Diploma.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to hold or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk, smell and hear. The employee is frequently required to drive, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, carry and crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
An employee in this job is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, often exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and has a risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. All field activities require proper PPE including steel toed boots, FRC clothes, hardhat, safety rated eye protection, gloves, or applicable hand protection.
